Kitsune Beauty Oval Brush Review

Oval makeup brushes are one of the latest trending beauty products on the market right now, along with rainbow highlighters and beauty blenders. I was given the opportunity to try out this set of three brushes from Kitsune Beauty and I am obsessed!

The brushes are the same size as any other makeup brush and are black with little grips on the handles. They are very soft to the touch and feel awesome on my face!

First, I used the Oval Brush #4 to blend out my BareMinerals Well-Rested CC Eye Primer underneath my eyes and on my eyelids. I typically use a beauty blender for this, but the brush was more effective in getting into creases and didn’t create lines under my eyes. I also used it with the e.l.f. HD Lifting Concealer to even out any dark spots. This is probably my favorite brush in the set.

Next, I used Oval Brush #6, the largest brush, with my BareMinerals loose matte powder, which is what I wear every day. I loved the way it blended the product over the be.l.f. Complexion Brush I had been using for years. You couldn’t tell I had anything on my face!

I also tried out #6 with the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation and I’m happy with the result. I don’t wear foundation too much because it’s unethically hot in Florida, but applying it with the oval brush made a world of a difference. The way the head of the brush is shaped make the bristles more compact and you don’t lose too much of the product in the brush when applying. I didn’t have to use much foundation, but was still able to get a lot of coverage. It only took a few seconds to blend the product in, making it a lot easier to get ready for work in the morning.

The last brush, Linear Brush #1, was the smallest and trickiest to use. I used it to blend the powder from my Benefit Brow Zings kit and actually prefer it to the tiny eyebrow brush I had been using. It blends a lot better, making my brows look more natural. The only downside is that you have to apply the product using upward brush strokes, which is something I’ll have to get used to doing over time.

I also used #1 to blend out the eyeliner under my eyes for a more dramatic look. This brush was perfect to use because it softened up the line a lot, making it less harsh. This brush is great for small, fine details.

If you’re looking to expand your makeup brush collection, I definitely recommend trying these brushes out! They’re very affordable (only $15.99 on Amazon!) and are the perfect starter oval brush collection. They’re excellent for blending and so soft – you won’t be disappointed!
