This post is part of my application for K-Swiss’ The Board, Diplo’s newest enterprising venture. K-Swiss was a leading sneaker company years ago and Diplo is calling 100 of the most creative people around the world to collaborate and bring the company back to the forefront. It’s so inspiring to see him taking on so many new projects in different industries, all while touring the world and still finding time to make new music.

I would dedicate all my spare time and energy to creating new ideas if I were selected to be a part of The Board. There’s so much I can learn from the online sessions that I can also apply to my life and the upcoming projects I have planned. This opportunity can really help me break into the fashion world and help me continue to grow as a professional.

My name is Michelle and I’m a new fashion blogger residing in St. Petersburg, Florida. I’m currently working with a friend on starting up a promotion company called Tribe Entertainment and I’m exploring possibilities of establishing my own shop through my blog. I’ve had previous experience starting a business from the ground up – my first job out of college was opening up a cigar shop in downtown Tampa. Right now, I’m working as a marketing assistant for an aviation school. I enjoy it very much and it’s the perfect opportunity to start my career, but I’m still looking for my big break into the fashion industry, which has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.

I’m passionate about style and music and would love to find a way to intertwine the two together in a way that’s never been done before.

My style can be described as classic, refined and edgy. I love bold prints, comfy knits, spikes, studs and anything leather. I try my best to keep up with current trends and brands, but most importantly, I dress for myself and how I feel in the moment. I am a glorified shoe addict – boots and sandals are my go-to’s, but since I am from Florida, I still love the laid back style of a classic sneaker. I even owned a pair of K-Swiss back in the day.

I can impact the K-Swiss brand with my motivation, passion, ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. I already have so many ideas in mind in regards to shoe design, social media and branding. I’m still trying to discover who I am and I know being a part of this project can help me learn a lot about myself. I finally have my life together, but I still feel like something is missing. I want to be a part of this project so I could show the world what I’m capable of.
