Since it’s been so cold for ages, I’ve had to come up with new ways to switch up my daily outfits. Layering is the best option to stay warm and still look chic. I’m so sick of wearing the same thing every week, which usually consists of some kind of knit, a pair of pants and one of three jackets. I’ve also decided I’m not buying anymore winter gear this year unless it’s 1) a great sweater on sale or 2) a pair of snow boots on sale (only because next winter will be my third in the city and I have to accept the fact that I’m not a Floridian anymore). Lately, I’ve been obsessed with layering camis (even though this is actually a dress) over turtlenecks! It’s a great way to break out a summer staple a few seasons early. Shop the items below to get a similar look!
Knit Turtleneck, $25 at H&M
Vinyl Chain Belt, $38 at Topshop
Silk Camisole, $50 at J. Crew
Skinny Jeans, $128 at Madewell
Madewell dress | Mango coat (in stores only) – similar here | Zara booties
All I want for Valentine’s Day is to wear this fur coat all day every day. For someone who’s not big on wearing red, I couldn’t pass up this silk midi dress. Not to mention, this color combo is to die for! Midis are a necessity in the winter, especially when you’ve been in an outfit rut for weeks. A thick pair of tights does make all the difference! And if you’re feeling bold, you could wear a pair of medium wash boyfriend/girlfriend/mom jeans underneath (see here, here and here for inspo). Topping this look off with the fur for a stark contrast made me feel like the ultimate fashion gurl.
What are your plans for the big V-day? I may or may not be ordering a heart shaped pizza for dinner later. Sending all the love your way!
Urban Outfitters teddy coat | vintage Calvin Klein jeans | ASOS booties
My very first clothing purchase of 2018 was this cute little teddy coat. I managed to stick to my shopping fast (one of my many new year’s resolutions) till the last week of January – a huge accomplishment, especially for me! I sized up in this jacket so I could layer it in the winter, and it makes a great transitional piece into spring. I especially love this rust + light wash denim color combo. Ideal for exploring the pretty streets of the West Village!
Zara culottes | H&M sweater – similar here | Zara boots | Mango bucket bag – similar here and here
I’ve got my party pants on, which means I’m ready for the weekend! I’ve always loved the look of culottes, but sometimes they can be tricky to wear. This gold pair by Zara is my favorite! They’re super cropped, which works perfectly with my height, and they have pockets! Culottes are typically something I’d wear in the warmer months with some sandals, but I decided to pair it with a black knit for the winter and loved the end result. Lately, all I’ve been wanting to wear is pants, so these are a great alternative to denim. If you’re worried about your legs being cold, just throw on a pair of black tights underneath for an extra layer!
Silence + Noise jumpsuit | turtleneck – similar here | Brixton hat | Zara booties | YSL clutch | & Other Stories hoops
2018 brought a lot of new changes for me. Just in the past few weeks, I finished up my master’s program at Columbia, started a new job in fashion PR and turned another year older. I took some time off to relax, focus on myself and get adjusted to my new schedule, but now I’m back at it again and ready to share all new content!
This is my second winter in the city and it’s definitely been the coldest. I’m ecstatic it warmed up a little this past week! Lately I’ve been caught in between the struggle of wanting to be warm and wanting to dress cute. I have a ton of summer dresses and jumpsuits, so I made it a mission to create new ways to incorporate them into my winter wardrobe. This is where layers are key! I wore this jumpsuit to a wedding in July (see below) with some sandals, but completely changed the look by throwing it over a turtleneck and pairing it with my favorite black booties.
Necessary Clothing sweater | Brandy Melville boyfriend jeans | Zara booties
It’s officially February! I can’t believe how fast time is flying by this year. Along with February comes Valentine’s Day, a reminder to love not only your significant other (if you have one), but also your friends, family and everyone around you. Most people think this holiday is overrated, but I personally like to embrace all of its cheesiness and all the chocolate that comes along with it.
My dear friend and fellow classmate Allie (here’s a link to her website), came up with the idea to dress in Valentine’s colors to embrace love. I took this as the ideal opportunity to break out this new red sweater I picked up from Necessary Clothing in Soho earlier this week. I can’t get enough of the lace up details on the sleeves and the oversized fit. I deem this the perfect cozy knit for my first official winter in the city.
Mango coat – similar here | turtleneck – similar here | Brandy Melville boyfriend jeans – sold out | fishnets | Zara booties | Ray Ban Original Wayfarers
I lowkey love that fishnets are back in style. I originally bought this pair of tights for Gasparilla in Tampa a couple years ago and never really had the chance to wear them again until now! I love the contrast between them and this pair of boyfriend jeans.
This outfit pairs perfectly with the gorgeous coat I picked up from Mango in Soho earlier this week. The pale grey color and moto style are right up my alley. They have their end-of-season sale going on right now and I highly recommend stopping by (or shopping online)! This store is very underrated. Mango’s styles and prices are comparable to Zara’s. I’ve also found the stores to be a lot less crowded, which makes shopping a lot more enjoyable, especially in New York!

Forever 21 Mini Dress | Sam Edelman Boots | True Brown K Lip Kit by Kylie
Merry Christmas! It’s 80 degrees in Florida, which means I can get away with wearing boots and dresses this “winter.” Oxblood has been one of my favorite colors for awhile and I was so happy when I stumbled upon this dress in the mess that is Forever 21.
I’ve been eyeing this pair of over-the-knee boots for awhile and finally bought them on Black Friday when they were on sale! They’re very comfortable and fit like a glove. Sam Edelman is one of my favorite shoe designers and never disappoints. These boots can be worn with jeans or leggings for a more casual look or with a dress or shorts for something more edgy.
On my lips is the True Brown K lip kit by Kylie Jenner (don’t judge me). I somehow managed to buy the kit during the second release earlier this month even though it sold out in 30 seconds! It comes with a lipliner and a liquid lipstick.
I’m actually very impressed with this lipstick because it dries quickly once it’s applied and doesn’t smudge. I was able to eat a meal and only had to reapply a little after I was done. I’ll definitely attempt to buy the Dolce K when it’s back in stock again. This is the perfect color to top off an outfit, especially in the winter.
Hope everyone’s having a wonderful holiday with their friends and family!
