It’s official – I’ve finally found the tan coat to end all tan coats! I’ve been searching for the perfect wool-blend for the past two years, and this year it was finally meant to be. Tan is also the only shade I’m missing from my (super) extensive outerwear collection. Now that I’ve been living up north for over a year, I’ve realized the importance in investing in quality coats and jackets. Long gone are the days of freezing my butt off because I don’t want to lug a jacket around a bar (shout out to coat check!). I love how this camel tone pairs with my favorite color to wear, black. This boyish style is also a plus because it can swing both ways – casual and laid back with white sneakers or feminine and dolled up with some heels.
BTW, if you ever need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours, I definitely recommend visiting The Met Cloisters in Fort Tyron Park/upper Manhattan. It’s a haven for medieval European art and architecture and the views of the Hudson River are absolutely stunning! Their gardens are so peaceful and I could see myself spending hours at a time here (when it’s warmer, of course) appreciating the art or even reading a good book. The best part is it’s free (if you’re a fellow Columbia student) or you can choose to pay what you want at the door.
